When enragement culminate..


This incident happens on last month. I remembered when I am not able to detain my anger during my supervisor (HR Executive) suddenly angry on me about why one of the employees in our company do not claimed his overtime works. I actually respect her, but on that day, I really do not guess that I can heighten my voice to her. Perhaps, I already dormant my problem so long during this. I am given a task to key in the overtime works for all employees in addition to process the salary for the direct and foreign’s category (local and foreign operators). Before this, I already make one copy his overtime form for she back pay his overtime works. She processes the salary for the exempt category (supervisor, officer and assistant officer also engineer and assistant engineer). When she suddenly admonishes while heighten her voice, I shocked. I thought she maybe forgot what I tell her before this. However, when she suddenly evokes the issue of paying back his overtime works that it is not be done, I feel very angry.

She asked me, ‘Why can you left his name?’
I answer back, ‘His overtime forms were made two times but different date. Just one form already suffices. If two forms, it can be make me confuse. Because of many tasks that need to complete within the definite time, I do not having much time to check back.
She reciprocates, ‘Actually, you cannot leave despite one name. If auditor comes here for auditing the overtime forms, what can we say?
She adds again, ‘Ms. Ong (HR Officer) ever told me that many overtime works for security guards need to claimed because of missed out.
When she says like that, I suddenly feel hot.
I answer back, ‘Which one is need to pay back? I know only two peoples only.
She silenced.
I add again, ‘Please understand a little bit. Try to envisage that there are many names in one form. One set of form has three pieces of papers. When key in into system, it needs some times. One day is not enough to complete hundred names. It is not included with engineer, technician and supervisor who going in out, which difficult to calculate.
I tell her again, ‘It is lucky when Yana (HR Clerk) has helping a little bit for operators when she is free. Despite that, it stills much. It is differ with the Exit Pass form, which done by Ms. Ong. It is not much like the overtime forms.
She silenced again.

Later, she asks me to cool down and sit down first. Nevertheless, I feel so relieved because able to disgorge my stress that I faced before this. Before this, the overtime forms have done by HR Clerk. When I requested to key in the overtime forms, I felt my work burden enhance. Furthermore, Ms Ooi (HR Executive) and Ms Ong are not adept to calculate the overtime works. I am not to proud myself. But, it is a reality. Actually, they should know than me because their positions are higher than me. Also, the position for HR Clerk is not added again because Penang branch is already closed. Not only that, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) also questions what for the position is added again. He worries that employees do not have a work to do. It is normal when the owner of a company is Chinese people.
*Based on the short stories above, she actually want me to check back after i already key in all overtime forms. I use tu quoque when she asked me to check back the overtime forms, but, i never see her and Ms. Ong help me to check back the overtime forms when i am busy. Also, she ever said that we need to help each others when one of us busy or do not having much time to complete some task. Actually, they have to learn how to calculate the overtime forms accurately. It is because their position are higher than me. They should know better than me.  I also use the ad hominem abusive, which what for i should listen to her advise? She never help me to check back the overtime forms because she does not know how to calculate it. All tasks that need to key in into system, she give to her subordinates. When the wrong occurs, she only know to angry. If i answered back, i will be treated that i match her. Besides, i use the ad populum appeal to force, which she is concern with her job because she was promoted from Training Officer to HR Executive even though she does not have any experience in payroll and a qualification in Human Resource Management. If i resign, i am sure that no one can work with her for a long time. If i abscond suddenly, no one can calculate the overtime works accurately because nobody adept to calculate it. Other than that, when she said 'Why can you left his name?', she try to throw out loaded questions so that others believe about what has been asked as true. In fact, it might be not! I am really inadvertently. At that time, i am really busy with another tasks.
